Some years ago I was visiting Nanjing working for a Dutch businessman.  We were about to return to Shanghai by bullet train. When we arrived at the railway station, my client approached the ticket office to buy our tickets, while I stayed with our luggage. He returned five minutes later, but without the tickets. He said there is no English signage in the booking hall and none of the staff could speak or understand English. So we swapped roles. He stayed with the luggage and I purchased the tickets. In the train he commented, “Jin, for this reason I need you as my interpreter. Without you I would still be in Nanjing”.

XuJin was an excellent tour guide. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about Shanghai and especially about what it was like to live in China. Jin was relaxed and happy and allowed plenty of time to get great photos. She was very flexible and took us to the places that we were keen to see rather than following a strict itinerary.

Jin was a great guide for our 2 days that we spend in Shanghai. All our requests were carried through. Her suggestions and plans for each day were just perfect. From the very first minutes of our meeting she made our trip a breeze. Due to the language problem, I was not able to understand what the staff at the hotel were trying to explain to me. But with Jin there too assist, it was so helpful. Jin took us to all the places that would make our holiday the best it could possibly be. Acquiring entry, bus and train tickets as we needed them. She even negotiated a cycle rickshaw for us at a Water town, which I wouldn’t have thought of.  Jin was a wonderful guide, therefore we highly recommend her. If we return to China we hope that she is available again.
